This is the #717 New York Central Scale Caboose that Lionel made in the late 1930s and early 1940s in Scale O Gauge. Lionel sold the 717K as a kit which the individual would put together and then paint with a brush with the enclosed brown paint. As such, this item has been properly hand-painted and is neverthless considered as such original. Our Opinion is that it is generally in Very Good Plus Condition. We would actually grade this piece higher but the Original Paint Job was not the greatest and a good bit of the Original Gray Body can be seen through the Brown Paint. No Box.
